Your Experience

If you didn’t already know, there are two islands on the River Seine, and Paris was founded on one of those – on the Ile de la Cite. It is on this historical and charming island that you will begin your journey, along with an expert guide. Walk along the Left Bank in the Latin Quarter and pass by the historic bookstore, Shakespeare & Company, a gathering place for the literary legends like Hemingway, F Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein and many others.

Your next stop is the imposing gothic structure of Notre Dame Cathedral. Constructed in the 13th century, this magnificent church has very recently survived a fire. Yet, she still stands with pride as the symbol of Paris. Admire her architecture and learn about her glorious past, including the store of the legendary hunchback.

Enjoy a stroll through the charming flower market to Sainte Chapelle. Built in the 13th century by King Saint Louis, nearly eighty percent of its walls are covered by beautiful colored glass windows. Skip the long entry lines here and listen to your guide explain how to read the stories on these glittering masterpieces. Your last stop is the Conciergerie, which was actually built as a medieval palace, but is most famous for being the prison and last home of Queen Marie Antoinette during the French Revolution.
