Who is Tina Turner?

Anna Mae Bullock was born on November 26, 1939, in a small Tennessee town. She would grow up to become the most well-known rock ‘n’ roll performer of her time, adopting the name Tina Turner. Her popularity was such that she was able to sell more concert tickets than any other solo artists.

The musical deals with the good and bad of Turner’s life and looks at both her personal and professional lives. The show intelligently incorporates the performer’s famous songs into the story, ensuring that it does not feel forced at any time.

Turner first came into the spotlight during the 1960s when she and her then-husband Ike Turner produced terrific music. The story proceeds to showcase the toxic relationship between Tina and Ike, resulting in abuse and a bitter divorce. The Tina Turner Musical reveals how, after immense struggles, she manages to make a comeback to the stage in her 40s.

Impressive soundtrack

Turner, currently age 80, is deeply involved with the production. In an interview, she claimed that the musical forced her to return from retirement. The 11-time Grammy Award winner’s fans will be delighted to see Turner’s inspirational journey as she dealt with fame, wealth and difficulties in her personal life.

Famous songs to look forward to in the production include What’s Love Got to Do with It?, GoldenEye, Let’s Stay Together, and I Don’t Wanna Fight.
